Jonah

The story of Jonah and the big fish takes me back to my Sunday school days. The story is about God asking Jonah to visit the city of Nineveh a very sinful city, to warn them if they did not change their ways and turn to follow Him, He would bring judgment on the city. Jonah became scared and decided to board a boat and sail in the opposite direction. But God was watching, so God caused a great storm to rise on the sea. Once the crew knew Jonah was disobeying God he was turfed out of the boat. Then God allowed a large fish to swallow him up and after three days, after Jonah pleaded with God, he was spewed back onto the dry seashore. Jonah then obeyed God and went to Nineveh, and much to Jonah’s surprise the people heeded Gods call to repent and turn back to Him, so the great city of Nineveh was saved.
