In Proverbs 11 verse 1 we read - The Lord detests dishonest scales, but accurate weights find favour with him. Both in the weather and with the nations the world over, both political and religious extremes are building up.

Over the centuries mankind has been making advances in all areas of life including transport, communication and weapons to fight. Because of sin man is out to become wealthy and to gain power at whatever it takes. So men are going to greater lengths and extremes in order to fulfil their dreams. We need to ask the question where will all this end up?

Yet in spite of what extremes are happening in the world, there is a remnant of Gods people who are seeking to bring a balance. Back in the book of Acts 17 verse 6 (NKJV) we read “These who have turned the world upside down” were the newly fledged church actually seeking to turn the world the right way up.

In 1 Timothy 4 v 1 we read The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron. Also in 2 Timothy 4:3-4 we read - For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

In Proverbs 22:28 we read Do not move an ancient boundary stone set up by your forefathers. Then again in Jeremiah 6:16 we read - This is what the LORD says:

"Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.

In this our day we are seeing an ever increasing number of leaders who are bringing in false doctrine distorting the truth and as evidence causing division amongst the people of God.

We need as Gods people to get back into God’s word and ask the Holy Spirit to enlighten the written word to us, then in turn seek to obey what the word says.

A second yet just as important point to highlight is what the apostle says in 2 Timothy 3 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.

Dear friends we are indeed in the LAST DAYS, let us seek to know Gods word and rightly apply it to our lives. Let us also keep alert as to what is happening around us and around the world because we read in   1 Peter 5:8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

Because of the evidence all around us, it is my heart’s desire for you to rediscover the truth God wants to reveal to you, and be ready to stand against the ways Satan is using to distort the truth.
